School Nurse

Our school nurse carries out vision and hearing test on children in their first year at school and also checks the children’s height and weight. She advises or acts immediately on health queries arising in the school and visits Parents at home if necessary.
 

Special Tuition Services

 

Mrs Burns visits the school each week to assist those children recognised as having severe learning difficulties. She works in close liaison with the school’s Psychologist and the school’s SENCo.

 

School Governors

 

School Governors are the equivalent of a Board of Directors and make decisions about how the school is run. They meet on average twice a term as a whole group and more regularly as member of various committees or working parties. School Governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities. They can only act corporately – not individually. Most Governors are elected by the church, (foundation governors) but there is also one  who is elected by the parents, one by the staff, and one is appointed by the borough.
